Some Girls reissue

The Rolling Stones are increasingly looking to their back catalogue to inspire and delight fans and with Xmas soon approaching (yes, already!) they’ve decided to unleash this beast of an album on us.  The Some Girls reissue will feature a range of previously unreleased songs and outtakes.

The first song to “leak”, ‘No Spare Parts’ is a country-rock stomp of a song a million miles away from the disco glamour of ‘Miss You’ or the sexualised ‘Beast of Burden’ which helped to send the album to the top of the US charts.  The album remains their biggest selling US album to date.

The reissue comes with a range of extras to entice fans including a photo session of the band, essays and a 7” inch single of ‘Beast of Burden’/’When the Whip Comes Down’ in its original sleeve (that was banned at the time).

While many will bemoan the cost, it’s great to see that classic albums are continuing to be lovingly restored and put into context in this way.  With the additional track and extras it’s definitely a set worth buying.  At Music Heritage UK we say long may this trend continue - some of the greatest and most loved albums of all time deserve to be treated in this way.
